POWWeR Health study finding Dissemination to CHMT, Peers, NRHS Staff and Study Participants

POWWeR Health Study Dissemination August 22nd 2025, 1st September, 4th September and 8th September 2025

Study dissemination offers critical insights into the lived experiences, needs, and expectations of the participants engaged in the research. It creates a space for two-way learning, where researchers not only share findings but also listen to feedback, clarifications, and emerging concerns from stakeholders. This process deepens the relevance of the study outcomes and affirms the importance of community ownership in research. Such engagement strengthens the potential for sustainable impact, fosters trust, and lays a foundation for future collaborative public health interventions.

The POWWeR Health Study conducted a series of dissemination meetings in August and September 2025, targeting the Ministry of Health (MOH), peer educators, internal staff, and study participants. Each session was well-received. The MOH commended the inclusion of female sex workers (FSWs) in addressing menstrual health management (MHM) and pledged to follow up on the concerning WASH conditions at identified hotspots. Peers lauded the study team for consistent collaboration and professionalism throughout the project. For the staff, the dissemination offered valuable insight into the study’s design, implementation, and achievements. Participants expressed appreciation and a desire for the study’s continuation recommending an expanded scope to include mental health support and broader distribution of menstrual cups to reach more sex workers across the region.
