NRHS 2nd Cultural Friday – Pride Edition: Celebrating Community, Creativity, and Connection

On a bright and vibrant afternoon at Anza Mapema, NRHS Kenya hosted a special edition of Cultural Friday, themed Our Stories, Our Joy, Our Power. This Pride Edition brought together a diverse mix of community members, artists, health advocates, and partners in a warm, creative space centered on expression, connection, and well-being.
Through colorful fashion, uplifting music, expressive dance, and thoughtful storytelling, attendees shared in a celebration of individuality and community. The event created a safe and welcoming atmosphere where creativity took center stage—allowing participants to reflect on their experiences while building a stronger sense of togetherness.
Highlights of the day included:
- Performances in spoken word, music, and dance that reflected themes of hope, growth, and identity.
- A Rainbow History Walkthrough, showcasing milestones and lessons from around the world that encourage understanding, inclusion, and health-seeking behavior.
- Panel sessions that opened up dialogue around mental wellness, resilience, and the importance of supportive communities.
- A relaxed chill zone where guests could engage, connect, and learn from one another in an informal setting.
A candlelight moment was held to quietly honor individuals whose lives have left a mark in the journey toward inclusion and compassion. It offered a space for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.
The day stood as a gentle reminder of the value of every person’s story and the strength that comes from standing together in support of wellbeing, dignity, and access to health services for all.
As an organization committed to sexual and reproductive health, NRHS Kenya remains dedicated to creating safe, respectful platforms where people can express themselves, access services, and feel a sense of belonging. We thank all partners and participants who made this event meaningful, and look forward to continuing our collaborative work to build healthy, inclusive communities.
