Cultural Friday- 2026 December
On December 19th, Anza Mapema hosted a vibrant “Queerly Merry” Cultural Friday, marking the close of the year with record-breaking participation. Many attendees joined the event for the first time, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to the celebration.
Guests were treated to a variety of activities, including face painting, bead making, fun games, and trivia, which set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The cultural showcase came alive with energetic performances, featuring karaoke, dance, and rap battles that had everyone cheering and dancing along.
The event also celebrated the dedication of peer educators and community participants. Leaders from local organizations joined in honoring these individuals with awards, recognizing their commitment to advancing sexual and reproductive health in Nyanza. The festivities included a cake-cutting ceremony and the sweet sounds of Christmas carols by the St. Sebastian Choir, adding a warm and festive touch to the evening.
“Queerly Merry” was more than just a celebration—it was a moment of community, creativity, and recognition, reflecting the spirit of Anza Mapema and Nyanza Reproductive Health Society in empowering and supporting LGBTQ+ individuals.
We look forward to another year of inclusive programming, learning, and community engagement. Stay tuned to nrhskenya.org for upcoming events and initiatives.
