At the Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS), 2025 was a year defined by growth, resilience, and impact. Across Kenya, our teams worked with communities, health systems, researchers, and policymakers to strengthen access to sexual and reproductive health services while advancing evidence-driven public health solutions. Throughout the year, NRHS continued implementing programs focused on HIV prevention and management, sexual and reproductive health, cervical cancer screening, psychosocial support, and community outreach initiatives such as Anza Mapema. These interventions reached thousands of beneficiaries while contributing to broader conversations on equitable healthcare and inclusive public health policy in Kenya. A major highlight of 2025 was NRHS’s continued investment in research and innovation. Our studies explored critical health issues affecting vulnerable and underserved populations, helping generate evidence that can guide policy, improve service delivery, and strengthen healthcare systems. By collaborating with universities, development partners, and public institutions, NRHS ensured that research findings moved beyond academic discussion into practical action that benefits communities directly.
NRHS also strengthened its role in national and county-level health policy engagement. Through participation in technical working groups, scientific forums, and collaborative policy platforms, the organization contributed expertise on HIV prevention, reproductive health, STI management, and community-centered healthcare programming. These engagements reinforced the importance of locally grounded evidence in shaping responsive and inclusive health systems.
Community engagement remained central to our work. Across different regions, NRHS teams partnered closely with local communities to increase access to health information, testing services, counseling, and referrals. By combining research with outreach and advocacy, we continued promoting dignity, access, and informed healthcare decision-making among populations that often face barriers to services. The year also reflected the strength of collaboration. NRHS worked alongside government agencies, healthcare institutions, researchers, donors, and grassroots organizations to expand impact and improve sustainability. These partnerships allowed us to strengthen research capacity, improve service delivery models, and contribute to Kenya’s broader health and development goals.
As we look ahead, NRHS remains committed to building healthier communities through evidence-based interventions, inclusive partnerships, and compassionate public health programming. The lessons and achievements of 2025 continue to shape our vision for a future where every individual can access equitable, quality healthcare and live with dignity.
